Colours Near and Far Silent Auction

The Place Near and Far Art Gallery Would like to extend an invitation to artists to participate in the annual Colours Near and Far Silent Auction
Location: 225th Douglas Township Celebration, Kennetcook, Arts & Culture Tent
Details: There will be no fee to participate, however there will be a 15% commission of the sale price of the artwork. (You set the minimum bid).
The artwork theme must be rural, historical, or pertaining to the 84th Foot Regiment

( reference photos are available*)
The artwork may be dropped at the Arts and Culture tent on Friday June 26, or before that at The Place Near and Far Art Gallery in Kennetcook.

Group Spring Show - Official Opening

A coolish spring evening did not dim the bright colours in the latest show by the Gallery's Working Group. 

Textiles, wood turning, pen & ink, acrylic, watercolour and more were represented at this year's first Exhibition...

Tasty home made hors'doeuves and baked treats welcomed visitors while Kyle MacDonald provided light background music.

 

Fresh, spring & natural themes were well represented in this latest show by the Gallery's Working Group...

Christmas at the Gallery -  December 19
Outside it was dark and cold, but inside the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with lots to do and goodies to eat...
A variety of door prizes were given away... Weaver Susan instructs a visitor on the loom. Beautiful works in the Silent Auction.
Angelika and a youngster create origami stars from shiny specialty papers. Parents also enjoyed being crafty and helping out their children... while Sandra shows another visitor how to create fast Christmas coasters.
Kelly Morehouse Solo Show - Official Opening Saturday August 23
Another soft summer evening  in Kennetcook, complete with music and delicious refreshments in a gallery atmosphere.

Guests enjoyed two rooms of Kelly's eclectic work and a typical Nova Scotian 'porch party' as well!
Kelly's work ranges from fine art portraiture, calming inks, paper clay & mixed media pieces to ceramics...

Andew's use of bold colours made for an immediate impression walking into the Gallery...
Mixed media and Andrew's trademark bold hand created an exhibit with impact...

Heroes of Hants -  Highlights

exhibition with documentation for visitors to self-guide themselves through the lives and accomplishments

of notable people such as statesman Joseph Howe and shipwright W.D. Lawrence.
