- This year our student grant recipient is local Melissa Peters
from Upper Rawdon. She will be your Gallery Guide all
through the summer, and then will be starting at NSAC in the fall.
The Kennetcook Society for Economic and
Environmental Development (KSEED), believes arts and culture are vital to the growth of the
community in many ways. The Art Gallery and Workshop are
located in the former Kennetcook Hotel, one of several heritage
buildings still in use in the Kennetcook village centre.
Kennetcook is a growing community
and is preparing for the future. Area residents..."believe arts and culture are central to our community's
economic and social development." The art gallery space has
been donated by a local business whose owners share the vision.
Hanging
Youth Competition entries upstairs...
The Gallery is located in the "Old Kennetcook Hotel"
(a designated Heritage Building), one of several historic
buildings still in use in the village center. Displays of
local youth art, meetings & other events periodically overflow
to other rooms upstairs. Artists joined with KSEED member
Don Moore, a national award winning wood turner, to
form a Working Group for the purpose of developing and operating
the art gallery.
